LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.40 g, 6 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a griffin; behind neckguard, Θ; on either side of truncation, dolphins. Rev. [Υ]EΛHTΩ[N] Lion walking to right; below, Θ. HN Italy 1284. Williams 269 (O154+/R210). Harshly cleaned and the obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
